1 June 2021
On the 1st of June, KOMF representatives visited the Center for Protection of Victims and Prevention of Trafficking – PVPT, a KOMF member, which during the pandemic has continued to work with admission of new cases and provision of services for 24 hours, for children victims of trafficking.
Teuta Abrashi, PVPT director introduced PVPT programs, achievements, success stories and challenges they face.
KOMF social services monitoring report for 2020 shows that only 1% of the total budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare has been disseminated for social services. The report has recommended the establishment of the Specific Grant for Social Services.
KOMF appreciates the fact that Kosovo Government in the governmental program 2021-2025, has foreseen to put the line for basic services for shelters as a permanent line in the Law on Budget of Kosovo, aiming to eliminate the financial problems of the shelters. Kosovo government in its program, has foreseen also the review of legal framework for the public financing of NGOs and establishment of the specific grant for social services.
KOMF has appealed to finalize this process as soon as possible to ensure the financial sustainability of services for children in need.
