KOMF Presents the “Child Friendly Company” Model at the Eurochild Annual Conference as an Innovative European Practice

At the Eurochild Annual Conference, held in Paphos, Cyprus, the Network for Children in Bulgaria (NMD) and the Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection in Kosovo (KOMF) jointly presented the “Child Friendly Company” certificate as an innovative model for engaging the private sector in promoting and protecting children’s rights.

Developed by NMD and registered as a European trademark, the model enables organizations from different countries to become licensed national partners and implement the certificate in line with their national context and priorities. Through this mechanism, businesses are encouraged to adopt policies and practices that respect and promote children’s rights while strengthening their social responsibility.

KOMF is the first licensed national partner to implement the “Child Friendly Company” certificate in Kosovo, marking an important step towards fostering a culture of corporate responsibility for children and families.

The Eurochild Annual Conference brought together hundreds of representatives of children’s rights organizations, public institutions, experts, and young people from across Europe, providing a platform for sharing good practices and advancing policies that promote the well-being and rights of children.

During the presentation, it was emphasized that the “Child Friendly Company” certificate has the potential to become a European standard for socially responsible businesses, based on the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). The initiative encourages companies to integrate children’s rights into their policies, organizational culture, and day-to-day business practices.

Kosovo’s participation and representation at this important European conference was supported by the Kosovo Civil Society Foundation (KCSF).
