Representatives of KOMF and the member organization Handikos Gjakovë, today conducted a meeting with the Mayor of the Municipality of Gjakovë, Mr. Ardian Gjini.

During the meeting, KOMF informed the Mayor of the Municipality that it will design instruments and increase the capacities of professionals at the municipal level, for adequate and sustainable planning, financing and contracting of social services.

In addition, KOMF will support the Municipality of Gjakova in the implementation of the Law on Child Protection, building the capacities of municipal officials, professionals working with children and non-governmental organizations on the content and responsibilities arising from the Law on Child Protection.

KOMF will carry out these activities through the project “Empowering the actors of social services to provide quality and sustainable services for vulnerable children and families in Kosovo”, supported by Unicef Kosovo Program in partnership with USAID Kosovo.

Mr. Gjini welcomed the initiative of KOMF and pledged that the Municipality is ready for participation, contribution and engagement in this process.
