Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection in Kosovo – KOMF, in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Council and the Committee on Health and Social Welfare in frame of the Assembly of Kosovo, invite you to participate on the roundtable discussion “The impact of social services to citizens in need”.
Providers and beneficiaries of social services such as host families, children without parental care, service providers for children with disabilities, service providers for drug addicts and parents, spoke to the representatives of the Assembly, other participants and the media about the main difficulties they face on a daily basis in terms of providing and receiving social services. This discussion was about the need for intervention by institutions through the proceeding of the Draft Law on Social and Family Services and the Draft Law on Local Government Finances, which are expected to ensure the sustainability of social services. The latter have not yet been approved.
The discussion panel was attended by Fatmire Mullhaxha Kollçaku, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee for Health and Social Welfare, Sebahate Beqiri, Parent of a child with disabilities and Executive Director from the Organization Down Syndrome Kosova, Muharrem Ademi, Addiction Expert and Social Work Leader from Labyrinth Centre, representatives from Host Families for housing children without parental care and youth from the Organization SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo.
