Social and family services encompass the protection and provision of services for various categories of individuals in need of social protection, as defined in the Law on Social and Family Services and other relevant legislation.
Monitoring and inspection represent key components in ensuring accountability and enhancing the quality of social and family services. They also play a crucial role in enforcing laws and sub-legal acts and can be considered as oversight mechanisms overseeing the implementation of laws, sub-legal acts, and minimum standards in practice. However, the implementation of laws in practice is not easy. The implementation of laws requires institutions to have a clear mandate, be well-organized, and be accountable for the tasks they are obligated to perform.
The module has been developed based on applicable legislation (primary and secondary) and taking into account the standards and practices from the field of monitoring and inspection.
