Webinar “Peer mediation as an alternative for addressing violence in schools”

KOMF and the Kosovo Education Center held a webinar on “Peer Mediation as an alternative to addressing violence in schools”.

Mediation is a structured process in which a neutral third party helps people or groups involved in a dispute to communicate and resolve conflict. Mediation in schools as an alternative to resolving conflicts in a non-violent and sustainable way is supported by the Kosovo Education Center.

This webinar was led by Petrit Tahiri, Executive Director – Kosovo Education Center, and speakers were: Valdet Plakolli, Psychologist – lower secondary school “Xheladin Rekaliu”, Liridon Maliqi, Director – lower secondary school “Qamil Batalli” – Pristina, Supije Zhitija, Director – lower secondary school “Gjergj Fishta” Prishtina and Mediation groups of schools “Qamil Batalli” and “Gjergj Fishta”.

Throughout the webinar, peer mediation was discussed with participants, where they shared examples and good practices for addressing violence in schools. This webinar opened the series of webinars on school violence, wich will be organized by KOMF in cooperation with member organizations and other partners.
