KOMF signs a Cooperation Agreement with the Ministry of Justice

The Executive Director of the Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection – KOMF, Donjeta Kelmendi and the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu signed today a Cooperation Agreement in order to make a joint contribution to the advancement of children’s rights in Kosovo.

This agreement aims at mutual cooperation between KOMF and the Ministry of Justice for the contribution in drafting policies and legislation for children and monitoring the implementation of the execution of measures and sentences against juveniles by the Kosovo Probation Service (in hereinafter: KPS) and the Kosovo Correctional Service (hereinafter: KCS) for the purpose of joint contribution to the best interests of juveniles who have violated the law.

The agreement aims to:

  • Providing professional expertise in drafting policies, primary and secondary legislation affecting children and families in order to reflect their needs in these processes and drafting advanced legislation on children’s rights.
  • Providing data, analysis and recommendations from the monitoring of the implementation of the execution of measures and sentences against juveniles by the KPS and KCS, by KOMF for the Ministry of Justice, which will be used only for the purpose of contributing in the field of protection of minors in accordance with applicable law.
