KOMF calls for strengthening social services and child protection during the meeting with Minister Hoti

KOMF meets with the Minister of the Ministry of Labour, Family and the Values of the Liberation War, Andin Hoti, in an introductory meeting.

Representatives of KOMF congratulated Minister Hoti on his new position, emphasizing that the establishment of the Ministry of Labour, Family and the Values of the Liberation War represents an important and necessary step for the field of child protection and social services in Kosovo.

KOMF representatives expressed the request for the prompt processing of the public call for financial support for organizations providing social services, in order to prevent any gap between contracts and avoid interruptions in service provision.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the importance of consolidating the Ministry as a key institution for the development, coordination, and implementation of social policies, as well as the need to continue strengthening initiatives aimed at protecting the rights of children and other groups in need.

One of the main topics was the continuation of consolidating legislation in the field of social protection. KOMF representatives assessed as an important step the processing of the draft laws foreseen in the Ministry’s legislative plan for this year.

Minister Hoti expressed appreciation for the role and contribution of non-governmental organizations in protecting and providing services to vulnerable groups. The meeting reaffirmed the joint commitment to addressing challenges in the field of child protection and other social issues that directly affect the well-being of families and children in Kosovo.
