KOMF kicked off workshops for planning, monitoring, budgeting and contracting of social services

KOMF in cooperation with the Department for Social and Family Policy within the Ministry of Finance, started with the first two-day workshop for planning, monitoring, budgeting and contracting of social services. This workshop was held with representatives from the Municipality of Mitrovica, the Municipality of Drenas, Skenderaj and Vushtrri. The workshop was led by the local expert, Shar Kurtishi.

KOMF will continue to conduct such workshops in other municipalities of Kosovo as well. Also, KOMF will develop instruments for planning, monitoring, budgeting and contracting of social services. These instruments will be designed to support municipalities for fair and sustainable budget planning and management of social services.

Participants in the workshop were representatives from the Municipal Directorates for Health and Social Welfare, Municipal Directorates for Budgets, Centers for Social Work, representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers and the non-governmental organizations Down Syndrome Kosova and Handikos – Mitrovica.

This workshop was made possible within the project “Strengthening social service workforce to provide continued quality social services for most vulnerable children and families in Kosovo”, supported by Unicef Kosovo Program in partnership with USAID Kosovo.
