The Coalition of NGOs for the Protection of Children – KOMF, which represents 35 non-governmental organizations, expresses deep concern about the spread of the dangerous TikTok game “Superman Challenge,” which has already resulted in several reported cases of students sustaining physical injuries from participating in this game.
KOMF addresses all students: this is not a “game” nor a “challenge.” Playing this game harms you physically and can have serious consequences for your health.
KOMF urges all students:
- Report to your parents or teachers if you know that your peers are involved in this game. Only by doing so can you truly help your friends!
- Engage in games that help you grow strong and healthy, and stay away from such harmful tricks.
KOMF calls on parents:
- Monitor your children while they are online and discuss with them the inappropriate “games” or “challenges,” the risks they carry, and the harm they may cause.
KOMF calls on teachers:
- Hold informative and awareness-raising sessions with students about the potential consequences of inappropriate games and how to replace them with fun and healthy activities.
- Ensure student supervision in classrooms, during breaks, and in other school areas to prevent such risks.
- Pay extra attention and care to prevent new cases of children being manipulated by this game.
- Establish intensive and continuous coordination with students and parents on this matter.
