The proposed model of the “Municipal Strategy and Action Plan for children’s rights” was drafted as a conclusion of a one-year process during which KOMF through the provision of seven sub-funding for NGOs in seven municipalities, has supported the process of drafting of Municipal Regulations for Children’s Rights as well as the Strategy and Action Plan for Children’s Rights, in the municipalities: Prishtina, Drenas, Fushe Kosovë, Lipjan, Gjilan, Ferizaj and Peja.
This model has been provided to raise the awareness and commitment of the municipalities in order to put in the center of their attention and reinstate as a priority in their municipal governance agenda the issues dealing with and related to children. This document provides the opportunity for every municipality to engage and address issues related to children, aimed at implementing all the rights of children.
This Strategy and Action Plan in itself constitute the responsibility and practical commitment of a child-friendly municipality, which aims at decision-making, accountability and practical commitment towards th implementation of their rights, usage of full potential of children, as one more opportunity that children grow up safe, healthy and happy in environments and communities where they develop their existence.
The Municipal Strategy and Action Plan model is offered as a reference model to all municipalities in Kosovo, providing them an opportunity to replicate the process and draft the Municipal Regulation and Action Plan Strategy for Children’s Rights, within the municipalities of tire.
