Virtual campaign #Protectchildren concludes

KOMF, has concluded a one-week awareness campaign regarding the implementation of the Law on Child Protection.

This Law was drafted for the first time in Kosovo and was approved on June 27, 2019 by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo and according to the procedure, entered into force this year, on July 17, 2020.

With the entry into force of the Law, KOMF together with the advocacy platform “Friends of Children” and other prominent personalities from various fields in Kosovo, launched the virtual campaign “#Protectchildren”, in order to promote the Law on Child Protection and increase awareness of citizens and institutions for the full implementation of this Law.

Through this campaign, 14 honored personalities have joined the cause for guaranteeing the rights and protection of children, by sharing excerpts from the Law on Child Protection, in order to inform the public about the content of this Law. These personalities have also appealed to all central and local institutions to make the protection of children an absolute priority and to take immediately all the necessary steps for rigorous and comprehensive implementation of the Law on Child Protection.

KOMF encourages other personalities who have an impact on society, to use this momentum in order to turn attention at children and to improve their position in Kosovo, a position which is now even more aggravated as a result of pandemic.

This campaign is KOMF’s first step towards promoting the Law on Child Protection and engaging in protection of children who make up 30% of the population.

KOMF expresses its gratitude to all personalities who continuously supported causes regarding child protection, for being part of this campaign with the aim to increase the impact on the entire population.
