Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection – KOMF is holding a study visit in Sofia with some of the member organizations, organizations that are implementing KOMF projects to support seven municipalities in drafting the regulations on children’s rights and action plans. As well representatives from the seven municipalities of Kosovo: Prishtina, Fushe Kosova, Peja, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Lipjan and Drenas.
The purpose of the study visit is to exchange and receive best practices from the Municipality of Sofie regarding to the actions of municipality in drafting policies and providing services for the protection of children’s rights.
Representatives from Kosovo were hosted by Sofia Mayor – Yordanka Fandukova, who shared the developments and steps taken for protection of children in the Municipality of Sofia. The municipality has developed policies and has invested in child protection by allocating the budget and encouraging the development of new services.
Representatives from Kosovo also had meetings with the Community Support Centre. The Community Support Centre for Children was once one of the largest foster care in Sofia, while today it is a community service delivery centre.
