On the occasion of the International Family Day, SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo in cooperation with KOMF and the Office for Good Governance, in the premises of SOS Village in Velani held a roundtable discussion with key actors and partners to discuss social and family policies, challenges and opportunities for children and families.
In this roundtable was discussed and recommendations were given by Mrs. Nezahat Ramadani Salihu, National Director, SOS Children’s Villages, Kosovo, Mrs. Remzije Krasniqi, Advocacy Director, National Education Adviser at SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo. Mrs. Fatmire Mulhaxha Kollçaku, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Health and Social Welfare, Mr. Habit Hajredini, Director of the Office for Good Governance of the Prime Minister, Mr. Dren Rexha, Social Policy Specialist, UNICEF Office in Kosovo, Mr. Mentor Morina, Director of the Department for Social and Family Policy and Mrs. Donjeta Kelmendi, Executive Director of the Coalition of NGOs for Child Protection.
In addition to the roundtable, SOS Children’s Villages also launched the advocacy campaign “Home is more than foster”.
This day ended with the call for all of us to reflect on the family and its importance and for everyone in individual and institutional capacity to contribute to good policy making and awareness that the foundation of a state and a bright future is a healthy family.
