KOMF considers it disturbing that the child is expelled from the preschool class because of “long hair”, thus denying the child’s right to education. Protection from discrimination, equal treatment and the right to education are guaranteed and protected by the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, the Law on Child Protection and the Law on the Protection from Discrimination.

It is necessary to review the regulations that contain discriminatory provisions for children. Municipalities must ensure that the regulations drawn up for schools in the municipalities are in accordance with the Child Protection Law and other laws in force that regulate children’s rights.
