We are pleased that the Draft Law on Early Childhood Education has been approved from the Government.

KOMF, together with member organizations, as part of the working group for drafting the draft law, has offered professional expertise, advocated and pushed forward several proposals. Among them, the proposal for cross-sectoral coordination and integration of services, in order to pave the way for the legal regulation of the provision of integrated services in early childhood between the sectors of education, health and social welfare. Currently, early childhood services are isolated and not integrated. Another very important issue pushed by KOMF in the draft law is the strengthening of the component of child protection in early childhood.

It is to be estimated that from the school year 2023-2024 Pre-Primary Education will become compulsory.
