KOMF, OFAP and SOS Villages marked the International Family Day

Foster Family Fatmire and Islam Musliu, SOS Mother Eli Hasani and representatives from KOMF, Organization for Children without Parental Care – OFAP and SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo marked the International Family Day jointly with the Commission for Health and Social Welfare in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo.

May 15 – International Family Day this year is dedicated to Foster Families as a form of child protection and is marked with the motto: Hape Derën, Çele Zemrën, Bëhu Familje Strehuese.

During this meeting, the Foster Family and the SOS Mother shared the experiences and challenges in caring for and raising children without parental care, but also the satisfaction and emotional fulfillment that this noble mission gives them. Thay adocated to increase the number of foster families for children without parental care, especially in municipalities where there are no foster families, and to increase the support for foster families.

The chairman and deputies of the Commission expressed their high appreciation for the very valuable work of host families and foster families and promised that they will do their best with Draft Law on Social and Family Services to guarantee a legal framework that strengthens the protection of children without parental care and all citizens in need.
