KOMF has supported the drafting of Municipal Regulations and Strategies for the rights of children in municipalities

Coalition of NGO-s for Child Protection in Kosovo – KOMF in frame of the two-year project “Protection of Child Rights in Kosovo”, supported from EU and managed by EU Office in Kosovo, has provided sub-financing grants to NGOs in seven municipalities and supported the process of drafting Municipal Regulations and Strategy and the Action Plan on the Rights of Children in seven municipalities of Kosovo.

Regulations and Municipal Strategies have been approved by Municipal Assemblies in the following municipalities: Pristina, Gjilan, Ferizaj, Pejë, Fushë Kosovë dhe Lipjan.

Sub-financed organizations that have supported municipalities in the drafing process of municipal regulations and strategies for the rights of children are: Shpresa dhe Shtëpi për Fëmijët, Public Organization for Local Initiatives and Supports – POLIS, Organizata Rinore Akti, NGO – NOPM, YMCA, Civil Rights Program – Kosovo (CRP/K) and Organization – OFAP.

These documents aims to put the issues dealing with children in the center of their attention and reinstate as a priority in their municipal governance agenda. These documents provide the opportunity for every municipality to engage and address issues related to children, aimed at implementing all the rights of children.

KOMF has shared these models to all municipalities of Kosovo, giving them an opportunity to replicate the process and the drafting of the Municipal Regulation and the Strategy and the Action Plan on the Rights of Children within their municipalities.
