We are very pleased that the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo approved the Draft Law on Social and Family Services. As a Coalition, we are proud to have led the position and aspirations of civil society in this process, with the great support of the European Union in Kosovo, KCSF, and the Unicef Kosovo Programme.

Furthermore, we have managed to incorporate into this law the vision of civil society for the future of social services. The approval of this lawofficially opens the path toward the reform of social services in the country.

The drafting of the draft law was a long, intensive, and highly challenging process, but it was necessary for KOMF and its member organizations. In this journey, we were united in a common voice with the Ombudsman Institution and the Association of Social Work Centers in Kosovo. The new law is expected to ensure that children, families, and citizens in need receive more qualitative and sustainable social and family services.
